The fake cart is the pause point in NoBuyCart. If there are no items here yet, the page still explains the simulator boundary: products are pretend, totals are fictional, and checkout always ends at $0.

How the fake cart works

When you add a product, NoBuyCart stores its fictional name, image, quantity, and fake price in this browser. You can adjust quantities, remove items, clear the cart, or continue to the fake checkout without creating a real order.

What to do before fake checkout

Before you continue, scan the cart like a short worksheet. Which item started the session? Which item is a duplicate? Which item was added only because the fake price looked exciting? Remove anything that does not need to stay in the story.

Reflection questions before buying

• Would I still want this tomorrow if there were no discount?
• Do I already own something that solves the same problem?
• Is this a need, a want, a mood, a trend, or a boredom click?
• What would happen if this stayed in the fake cart and never became real?

Remove items and lower the fake total

The quantity stepper and remove button are part of the practice. Try lowering the cart before checkout: remove duplicates, set quantities back to one, and keep only the items that still make sense inside a fictional session.

Use the cart during a no-buy challenge

During a no-buy challenge, this page can become a waiting room for wants. Add the tempting idea here, finish the $0 checkout if you want closure, and review the pattern later instead of paying while the urge is loud.

What the cart cannot do

The cart cannot charge a payment method, reserve inventory, contact a store, calculate real shipping, or create a delivery. It is built for pretend shopping, spending awareness, and safe no-buy practice.

Why checkout stays $0

The fake subtotal shows the pretend amount you avoided. At checkout, NoBuyCart applies a fictional no-buy discount and the amount due becomes $0.00. The point is a finished shopping loop without a real transaction.

A safer way to finish the urge

If a real checkout feels tempting, try building the cart here first. The familiar add-to-cart step gets a clear ending, and the final amount due stays at $0 instead of becoming a purchase.
